We’re proud to have recently supported the Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team, giving our time, expertise and resources to help maintain the facilities at their Smelt Mill base.
As part of our ongoing commitment to delivering meaningful social value within the communities where we work, Brian Maloney and Simon Lee volunteered their time to carry out an underground gas mains replacement project at the site.
The work involved replacing the existing gas supply infrastructure, helping to ensure the Mountain Rescue Team’s base continues to have a safe and reliable gas supply for the volunteers who use the facility.
While the work itself may have been an engineering project, the reason behind it made it particularly important. The Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team provides a vital emergency service, with volunteers giving their time to help people in difficult and sometimes life-threatening situations.
For us, being able to support an organisation like this is a great example of how we can use the skills and expertise within our team to give something back. By volunteering our time and carrying out the works, we were able to make a practical contribution that will help support the team and the important work they carry out.
It was also a great opportunity for our team to work alongside the volunteers at the Mountain Rescue Team and see first-hand the facilities that support their operations.
A huge thank you to Brian, Simon and everyone involved from the CM Oxendale team, as well as the volunteers at Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team, for their time, cooperation and support throughout the project.
We’re proud to have played a small part in supporting the people who are always ready to step up and help others when they need it most.
Giving back through the skills we have is something we’re proud to be part of.
