Case Study | Southport Hospital (CT Scanner)

C M Oxendale Ltd delivered the complete mechanical services package for the new CT Scanner and Interventional Suite at Southport & Formby District General Hospital. The project involved the installation, testing and commissioning of specialist mechanical building services to support advanced diagnostic imaging and clinical procedures. Working within a live healthcare environment, CM Oxendale successfully provided modern, energy-efficient and HTM-compliant systems that support patient care, staff wellbeing and the long-term operation of the facility.

Site Overview

The project comprised the creation of a new CT Scanner and Interventional Suite within the hospital’s diagnostic imaging department. The development was designed to provide enhanced clinical capacity and support advanced patient diagnostic and treatment services. Extensive coordination was required to deliver the works within an operational hospital environment whilst maintaining continuity of existing healthcare services and minimising disruption to patients and staff.

Mechanical Works

C M Oxendale’s scope of works included:

  1. Air Source Heat Pump Installation
  2. Air Handling Unit Installation
  3. Heat Recovery Ventilation System
  4. Heating and Chilled Water Distribution
  5. Fan Coil Unit Installation
  6. Domestic Hot and Cold Water Services
  7. Above Ground Drainage Systems
