Richard joined CM Oxendale in 2013 as an Apprentice Plumbing & Heating Engineer and has since progressed through the business to his current role as Yorkshire Divisional Manager.
After completing his apprenticeship, Richard went on to study for an HNC in Mechanical Services before moving off the tools and into Project Management.
Continuing his professional development, Richard completed a part-time degree in Building Services Engineering at Leeds Beckett University last summer. Today, Richard leads our Yorkshire office, based in Barnsley, overseeing the delivery and growth of our Yorkshire division.
In his current role, Richard is responsible for project management and planning, financial management, liaising with our design and pre-construction teams, surveying and estimating, project quality control, and ensuring Health & Safety compliance across our projects.
When asked what he enjoys most about working at CM Oxendale, Richard said:
“I love working for a family-orientated business with other like-minded, ambitious colleagues. There is always plenty of support when required, and coupled with the training opportunities that have arisen, it’s been a great environment to flourish.
I also love the variety of work that we carry out, whether on school schemes, airport works or HTM-compliant schemes. No two days are ever the same.”
Richard’s journey from Apprentice to Yorkshire Divisional Manager is a great example of the career development opportunities available within CM Oxendale, with continued learning, support and progression at every stage.
