Another busy week on site at Broad Oak School, with the project continuing to move towards completion and the team making excellent progress despite a very tight programme.
With the school preparing to reopen next week, the focus has been on completing the internal works and ensuring the new heating systems and plantroom are ready for final commissioning.
A number of key milestones have now been reached:
🔹 New heating circuit filled and tested, marking an important step towards bringing the new system into operation.
🔹 Flushing and dosing of the new heating circuit is taking place this weekend, alongside the power flushing of two existing circuits to ensure the systems are clean and ready for operation.
🔹 Isogenopak lagging to the high-level pipework is nearing completion, helping to protect the new installation and improve system efficiency.
🔹 BMS field wiring and terminations to the PICV valves and space temperature sensors are also nearing completion, bringing the control systems closer to being fully operational.
🔹 Plantroom pipework reinstallation is nearing completion following asbestos removal to the walls and ceiling. Lagging is scheduled to take place this weekend.
🔹 A new flue installation is the final major plantroom activity and will ensure the installation complies with current regulations.
The programme has required close coordination and a significant amount of work to be completed within a limited timeframe. Working around the asbestos removal and coordinating the various stages of the heating, pipework and BMS installations has meant keeping the team focused and the works moving efficiently.
With the school reopening next week, the priority is now firmly on getting the internal works fully completed and ready for handover. Within the plantroom, only the flue installation and BMS commissioning remain before this stage of the project is complete.
The project remains on track for full completion by the end of next week. 👏
It’s been a challenging programme, but the progress made by the team has been fantastic. A huge well done to everyone involved for keeping the works moving and maintaining momentum as we head towards the finish line.
